Dave was running on the track at a local middle school and felt a severe pain in his back behind his shoulder blade. Since he has had back issues in the past, he called Dr. Kehres to see if he could help alleviate the pain.
But a short time after working with him, Dave collapsed and went into cardiac arrest. Dr. Kehres quickly started CPR and continued until MMR arrived.
Dave was defibrillated twice and transported to the hospital where it was determined that he had 100% blockage in the “Widow-maker” artery. He was quickly taken into surgery and a stent was placed. Although the procedure was successful, Dave was still completely unresponsive and was placed in an induced hypothermia coma. Miraculously, he awoke 2 days later with only short-term memory loss.
Dave is extremely grateful for everyone that played a crucial role in his survival despite the insurmountable odds. Dave would not be here today if Dr. Kehres had not taken the time to learn CPR.
Make the commitment today to set aside one hour of your time to learn how to save a life. You never know when someone’s only chance of survival will depend on you.
